A tree that has been struck by lightening
Does not lose its beauty.
It is stark, solid, strong, a symbol of resistance.
The tendrils of the branches snake towards the
Overly oppressive sky.
To shake it’s first at the transient lightening
That blasted apart its life.
The lightening didn’t mean to
It’s just the general behavior in a storm.
The tree will not break or bend;
No matter what the shock.
It will stand, a testament to the ages;
To others as to what can be survived.
